Harrison 10 Months

My little Harrison man is not so little anymore...

Harrison turned 10 months old on the December 22.  My how time flies.  He has brought so much joy to our family.  I can't imagine life without him!  Here are a few milestones...
  • "Talking" more and more.  Bye bye is still his only real word.
  • He has absolutely no interest in walking or standing on his own.
  • He is still not sleeping through the night.  He usually wakes up around midnight and then 5:30am.  Thankfully he goes back to sleep after the 5:30 feeding, but mommy is SO ready to get 8 straight hours of sleep!
  • Sweet as ever.  I can just look at him and he gives me a big grin and busts up laughing :)
  • Although he is not walking or standing, he still manages to get into everything!!!
  • He is going to be a climber.  He tried to climb up the baby gate the other day!
  • Eats around 5:30, 9:30, 1:30, 5:30, and a bedtime bottle.  His schedule is currently under construction.  I am trying to get him on a 3 meals and 2 snacks a day schedule.
  • He loves his big brother.  In Harrison's mind, Parker hung the moon.  Just a glance from Parker makes Harrison grin from ear to ear :)
  • He is JUST LIKE Parker.  He likes truck, tractors, trains, wheels, etc.  He already makes a motor sound when he pushes his trucks.
  • Unlike Parker, Harrison is scared of NOTHING.  When I turn on the vacuum cleaner, Harrison makes a b line for it.  Parker would run to the other room.
  • When I say he is into everything, I mean he pulled the plastic outlet cover out of the outlet.  This is the outlet cover Britt and I hate because it is so hard to get out...
  • Still 6 teeth.  Possibly cutting more, but none that can be seen.
  • He started a sippy cup!  I started Parker on a sippy cup around 6 months.  Harrison didn't start holding his own bottle until much later, so I just decided to wait until he mastered holding bottle.
  • 1-2 naps a day.  He will possibly transitioning to 1 nap a day soon. :)
My sweet baby is growing up so fast.  He turns 1 in less than 2 months!

Random post

Yesterday my day was like this...

Yes, I wore fuzzy socks and crocs in public.  It was totally an accident!  At least I was only going to Dollar General and not wal-mart...
I immediately thought about this picture when I realized what I was wearing! HA!

I have realized several things today, first, you cannot expect one spanking, timeout, or grounding, to change a child's behavior.  It take consistency, time, and PATIENCE.  Patience is what I tend to lack.  Second, we need to get out more.  Not only do we need to get out more, but we need to get out with other people.  We went to the park today with our cousins, Amanda, lydia, and baby noah today, and it was exactly what WE needed.  Not only do the boys need to get out of the house, but I need some time to spend with an adult!  I would love to start a play group where we could get together once a week at the park, each others houses, or even the children's museum sometimes and just have time where the kids could play and the mommies can talk.  Does anyone read this blog?  If so, do you want to start a play group???  I am so serious about this. Email me or leave a comment if so!

Anyway, today has been a great day.  Both boys had so much fun at the park.  I put Harrison in the swing for the first time and he loved it!  I videoed it with my phone, but I am not sure how to get video off my phone :(  Parker and Lydia had more fun pushing Harrison's stroller around than actually playing on the park equipment.  At least they were entertained :)  After the park, we ate lunch at McDonald's.  There were 2 other boys around Parker's age there, so he had a blast playing with them.  Now the boys are napping and I am enjoying some peace and quiet.  Time to get a few things done before they wakeup!  I'll leave you with a pic from the park.  Harrison swinging for the first time!

Quick update

Harrison has started to dance.  It is the funniest, most awkward thing I have ever seen!  I hope to get it on video soon.  Just want to update for Harrison's "baby book".

The New Park!

We finally made it to the new park in Flowood!  It is amazing!  I love how there are different sections for different ages.  Harrison had his own play area so he didn't get run over by big kids, as did Parker.  Here are some pictures from our trip!

Please excuse his mouth full of food :)

Harrison loves to stand up!

Driving the firetruck together.  I think Harrison has inherited his big brothers love for steering wheels :)

This baby loves his paci!  Especially the Eagle one!

Sweet boy

This is the biggest part of the park

It is super high!

Harrison got in on some of the action on the big playground :)

Both the boys loved the new park!  We can't wait to go back!
