Family Time

Last Friday, we took the boys to the park. Parker has been wanting to go to this specific park for several weeks, so we finally took him! He had so much fun! Of course his favorite thing at EVERY park is the steering wheel, but he also loved the slide.

Harrison did what he usually does. SLEEP! I am trying to enjoy this sleepy time, but I can't wait for his little personality to come out!

Before we left, we walked across the soccer fields. I was hoping to get some energy out of Parker ;) Pushing the stroller through the grass turned out to be good exercise for mommy and daddy too :)

4 weeks!

My sweet baby boy is 4 weeks old! I cannot believe how fast the past 4 weeks have gone by! He is growing like a weed. I had to take him to the doctor on monday. I thought he might be getting sick, but it turned out to be reflux :( The nurse weighed him when we got there. He weighed 10 pounds! He has gained 2 1/2 pounds in 4 weeks! I might have a little chunker on my hands :)

He is still waking up every 3 hours during the night to eat. Sometimes he will give us a 4 hour stretch. He is starting to stay awake during the day a little more. Usually after his 8-9am feeding and 4-5pm feeding. I just love it when he is awake! He has the sweetest eyes! He is starting to focus on the person who is holding him or talking to him. I can't wait for him to start smiling! He smiles in his sleep, and it is the sweetest thing!

Parker still LOVES his baby brother. He will ask to help feed him every once in a while and sometimes he will even ask to hold him. He also tells me when he needs his paci or has spit up. I have a feeling he is going to be very protective of his little brother. It is so sweet.

I was going to try and get some brother pictures today, but it turned into individual pictures. Hopefully I can get them together soon! Here are a few of the pics I took this afternoon...

2 Weeks

My how time flies! Harrison is 2 weeks old! Since Harrison does not have a baby book yet, I decided I would record his weight and measurements on the blog until/if I can get to the store for a baby book :) This post may be boring to everyone, but I don't want to forget anything!

At birth, Harrison weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and measured 21 1/2 inches long. He dropped to 7 pounds 8 ounces by the time we left the hospital. At his 2 week check up, he weighed 8 pounds 11 ounces! He measured 21 1/4 inches, but the nurse did not stretch him out enough ;) He was 69th percentile for height, 46th for weight, and 23rd for head circumference. Yes, he has a small head. So did his brother. I was thankful for a small head while giving birth ;)

Anyway, he averages about 3 ounces of formula every 3 hours. He loves to eat, just like his brother did... Hopefully he will not develop Parker's picky appetite when he starts table food!

His cord finally fell off yesterday, so today he will be getting his first real bath! I have been waiting for this day. Sponge baths just don't cut it!

Aside from the lack of sleep, becoming a mother of 2 has been pretty easy. I am sure I will change my mind when we start going places. I am terrified to take them both grocery shopping! Parker is adjusting very well. He LOVES his baby brother. He hugs him and gives him kisses all the time! It is the sweetest thing :) Hopefully I will get some good pictures of them together as well as a family picture soon! Here are a few pictures of my boys :)

Day out with Parker

What a BEAUTIFUL day it was today! Since this is our last weekend with Parker as an only child, we decided to make it a special day and go to the park! Well, the park was PACKED, so we headed out to the reservoir instead. Parker loved watching the ducks and the boats. It was such a perfect day to just be outside! We finished off our outing with lunch at Lenny's! On the way home, Parker kept saying, "I'm so tired". I think he had a good day :) Here are a few pictures from our play day...

I love that boy so much! I can't wait for him to become a big brother!

Valentine's Day 2011

Today, Parker and I had a play day. With only 8 days left before baby brother comes, I thought it would be nice to spend some time together. We went to Target, the park, and then to eat lunch at McDonald's! Parker LOVES going to Target. He gets so excited everytime we pass by. Not sure where he gets that from ;) The park and McDonald's are just a given. We had so much fun! I am trying to take in these last few days we have together as a family of 3. I can't believe we only have 1 more week! Here are a few pictures I took at while we were at the park!

Rain!

We FINALLY got a good rain!

Parker thought it was a little loud beating down on the tin roof over our patio :)

Making good use of his new rain boots!

He loves to play in the rain!

The Fair!

We took Parker on his first trip to the fair last night! We had so much fun! Our first stop was the petting zoo. I was a little surprised that Parker was not afraid to pet the animals. He loved the goats and the zebra the most. The tent was pretty crowded, so we didn't stay long. Our next stop was my favorite. FOOD! I shared a pizza with Parker and Britt and my brother David ate at Pen's. You cannot go to the fair without getting a funnel cake, so we all shared a funnel cake as well. Parker would have eaten the whole thing if I had let him! He kept calling it a donut :) After we ate, we walked to the opposite end of the fair grounds so our food could settle ;) Britt is not to fond of fair rides, and I am 20 weeks pregnant, so the only ride we took Parker on was the carousel. While we were on the ride, I asked him if he was having fun and he said no. Although, when it was time to get off, he started to pitch a little fit. After the carousel ride it was closing in on 9 o'clock so we headed for the car. Parker, being the extreme boy that he is, got more excited about seeing big trucks and golf carts on our way to the car more than he did anything else! We had so much fun and I can't wait to go back next year as a family of FOUR!
